Experience

Regulatory Compliance & Policy Advisory:

Advised on market strategy to address compliance gaps across multiple jurisdictions, ensuring alignment with telecom regulations and risk tolerance, while preventing forced market exits, preventing criminal and civil penalties, and safeguarding the business reputation.

Conducted regulatory assessments on licensing, numbering, KYC, corporate, and operational matters, identifying compliance risks and corrective actions.

Led regulatory engagement at national, regional, and international telecom forums, including CEPT discussions for Mobile Satellite Services (MSS) license exemptions and Agenda Items for new MSS allocations at the ITU leading up to and during WRC 2019.

Reviewed and prepared contributions to public consultations, influencing regulatory policies.

Conducted ad hoc regulatory assessments, including the impact of sanctions regimes on telecommunications services.

Developed, implemented, and conducted stakeholder training on regulatory-driven processes, including compliance initiatives to combat voice and messaging scams, enhance KYC procedures for validating customer use-cases for SMS services, and managing notifications of (cyber)security incidents across a wide international footprint.

Managed trademark registration proceedings and ensured compliance with GDPR and data privacy regulations.

Contract Drafting & Negotiation:

Supported commercial teams in reviewing and negotiating telecommunications contracts for voice and messaging services across multiple jurisdictions with domestic and international carriers/aggregators. This included assisting in the transition from TDM to IP in an APAC market, contributing to significant cost reductions, and helping achieve a US$500,000 annual savings in one of the company's top three markets – nearly 8% of that market’s yearly revenue.

Drafted and reviewed sales, resale, and non-disclosure agreements for satellite-based services, ensuring compliance with industry regulations.

Market Access & Licensing:
